Results Round Up – Saturday 28th April 2018.

The Ruts suffered a classic case of ‘a bad day at the Office’ as the 1st XI failed to click in to gear and were incredibly poor by their own standards for most of the afternoon, especially in the first half by all accounts, as they went down 4 – 3 away at Hanworth Sports FC this afternoon.

Largely on the back foot the OR’s went 2 goals down before Duncan Fraser reduced the deficit. The OR’s then went 3 – 1 and 4 – 2 behind with Fraser adding his second and Zak Graham claiming the Ruts 3rd.

The Ruts second half was made harder by the early and very unusual sending off of Billy Liffen, which meant the Ruts had to see out most of the half with 10 men.

Well done to Hanworth who can now claim the title if they secure maximum points in their final 3 games. However, if they drop any points at all then the Title will head to Poplar Road. So the outcome could possibly last until the final day of the season on the 12th of May. It may well be a long drumroll!

Apparently the 2nd XI went down 5 – 0 at Woodmansterne Hyde, although we are awaiting definite confirmation if the scoreline is correct.

Onwards and upwards.
