Old Ruts Football Club

Old Rutlishians AFC (Old Ruts) is made up of ex-pupils of Rutlish School, amateur sportsman from the local community and the friends and relatives of existing players. It was reformed after a 58 year absence in the summer of 1990 having originally run from 1907 until 1932 when it folded after being replaced by Rugby as the popular winter sport at the Old Rutlishians

The 1st XI bowed out of the League Cup earlier, despite competing solidly against higher placed Chelsea Rovers FC today.

This was largely a tight game for an hour, and the Ruts went ahead around the hour mark, courtesy of a decent Billy Liffen strike. However, the talented Rovers upped their tempo and hit a trio of goals to secure their win. Liffen was the OR’s MOTM. We wish CRFC all the best in the next round.

The A Team secured a terrific 3 – 0 Victory against Reigate Priory ‘B’ FC in the Surrey Lower Junior Cup. The Ruts Scorers were Dan Wallis, Aaron Sandys and Seb Rayner. Sandys was the OR’s MOTM.

The B Team secured a decent 2 – 0 win over Real Holmesdale FC in the League. Alex Blenkinsop and Jake Searles scored the goals, with young Robbie Larcombe notching the MOTM award.
