Results Round Up – Saturday 10th December 2016

Not a great day overall results wise. All 4 teams were depleted in some shape or form and we did incredibly well to actually get 4 sides out, especially the 3rd XI.

We cannot gloss over the 1st XI result, as they bowed out of the County Cup following a disappointing and under par performance against KPRFC. The Ruts went ahead through Reece Jackson. An own goal and a decent strike then put the visitors ahead, before Billy Liffen levelled with a virtuoso quality goal to make it 2 – 2 at the interval.

In the second half the Ruts had plenty of chances to wrap things up, but they were unable to do so and consequently with a penalty shoot-out seemingly imminent, the visitors had a rare 2nd half attack with 2 minutes left to play and they nicked a 3 – 2 victory. Good luck to them in the next round.

The 2nd XI drew 1 – 1 at Kew Park Rangers today. The Ruts goal came via the penalty spot courtesy of Steve Berry.

Erol’s 3rd XI were in touching distant of pulling off an unlikely victory at Perrywood Sports in the County Cup. Apparently we went 2 goals up and the hosts levelled very deep in to injury time. The lads then lost the resulting penalty shoot-out. Scorers TBC.

The 4th XI picked up the only Ruts win of the day! as they won 2 – 0 at NPL ‘B’ FC thanks to yet another golden brace from young Harry Reeder.

Best wishes to the Vets and Junior teams tomorrow.

Results Round Up – Saturday 3rd December 2016

The 1st XI put in an excellent shift today winning comprehensively 5 – 0 at Hayes Town FC. With quite a few absentees a big mention and thanks must go to Kyle Moore, Ollie Hicks and George Tidey for stepping up from the 2nd XI and contributing massively to the cause. The goals came via Billy Liffen (2), Duncan Fraser, Jimmy Graham and Paul Whitthread. Ruts MOTM was Nick Raggett.

The 2nd and 3rd XI’s felt the effect of losing players upwards as they both went down 4 – 1. Scorers TBC.

The lively high scoring 4th XI beat Hook Venturers 6 – 3 thanks to some stunning goals and not a tap in between them. Aaron Betteridge (2), Dean Riordan, Freddie Paterson, Will Allardyce and Amir Cherifi were the Ruts scorers.

Results Round-Up – Saturday 19th November 2016

Overall this was a howler style day results wise, with only the 2nd XI securing a Ruts win and the 1st & 4th XI both lost their first competitive matches of the campaign.

The 1st XI had a day to forget as they went down 1 – 5 at home to a lively West Fulham side.

A well struck free kick and a debatable offside effort on 18 and 21 minutes respectively put the visitors in the driving seat, before the Ruts only real decent spell of the game saw Jackson reduce the arrears and moments later nearly level with a strong shot which was well thwarted by the WF keeper.

The less said about the 2nd half the better, as instead of driving on the Ruts were guilty of a number of defensive errors which West Fulham took well to comfortably wrap up their 3 points.

The Ruts will simply have to dust themselves down, take stock and look to bounce back promptly.

The 2nd XI provided the only bright light of the day as they beat Shaftesbury Town 2 – 0 thanks to goals from Ben Kennett and Phil Lines.

The 3rd XI suffered the same size defeat as the 1st’s as they went down 5 – 1 to Shaftesbury Town Reserves. Scorer TBC.

The 4th XI went down 3 – 2 against Chessington KC ‘B’, with Harry Reeder netting a brace for the OR’s.

Best wishes to the Vets and Junior teams tomorrow.
