Results Round Up – Saturday 16th February 2019.

The Ruts had a bad day at the Office results wise, losing all 5 of the matches played today.

The 1st XI bowed out of the County Cup against Battersea Ironsides FC today. The final score was 1 – 1. Alas, a couple of poor pens in the shoot-out saw the OR’s relinquishing the Cup they had won back last April.

A tight first half saw outstanding saves from both keepers and it ended goalless. It was great to see Evan Watson return in the sticks for OR’s after his lay off following surgery.

BIFC took the lead midway through the second half and the OR’s had a great opportunity to level from the spot. However, Zak Graham’s penalty was well saved, although Zak promptly made amends with a trademark 20 yard free kick to level the match.

Ruts then created more chances to win the game, although ultimately it finished even at 1 – 1. Both sides also lost a player to Red Cards in the final quarter of the match.

The penalty shootout saw both Michael and Chris Beard score and the OR’s 2 other penalties were missed, to make it 4 – 2 to Battersea on pens. We wish them well in the next round.

The 2nd XI went down twice to OPFC in their double banker. 2 – 0 and 4 – 1 respectively. Harry Reeder notched the OR’s goal.

The 3rd XI lost 6 – 2 at Worcester Park ‘A’ FC. Kevin Foster & George Tidey scored for the Ruts.

The 4th XI went down 5 – 1 at the League Leaders Woking, although they reached the interval even with Dean Riordan scoring for the OR’s.

Best wishes to the Junior Teams tomorrow.
