This was the first week in a very long while, in which none of the teams recorded a win, as we picked up two draws and suffered two defeats.
The 1st XI were held 0 – 0 by Goldfngers FC at a windy Nursery Road in their first 0 – 0 scoreline in over 2 years. A point a piece was not an unfair result overall, although the Ruts narrowly edged going closest to scoring slightly more frequently, as 2 x Zak Graham free-kicks hit the crossbar and were the pick of the chances. The hosts also hit the post in the first half. Credit to both defences for keeping clean sheets in a hard fought match.
The 2nd XI went down 3 – 2 at home to Shaftesbury Town FC. The OR’s goals came from Paul Gough and Ollie Hicks.
The 3rd XI drew 4 – 4 at Kew Park Rangers Res FC. Matt Vandepeer fired a hatrick and Jon Mapp scored once.
The 4th XI lost 3 – 2 at Brentford Free FC, although our Manager Boo felt it was a game they should have won. Jake Searles and Sam Colebrook notched for the Ruts.
Best wishes to the Ruts Junior teams tomorrow.
