Old Ruts Football Club

Old Rutlishians AFC (Old Ruts) is made up of ex-pupils of Rutlish School, amateur sportsman from the local community and the friends and relatives of existing players. It was reformed after a 58 year absence in the summer of 1990 having originally run from 1907 until 1932 when it folded after being replaced by Rugby as the popular winter sport at the Old Rutlishians

The 1st XI won 5 – 3 at Reigate Priory FC, with the hosts claiming two soft penalties. The Ruts goals came courtesy of Chris Beard (2), Zak Graham (2) and Duncan Fraser. The pick of the OR’s goals was a 25 yard screamer from Zak Graham. Dan Lawrence was the Ruts MOTM. Photos from this match are now online, courtesy of @andythephoto ‏ So a massive thank you to him.

The 2nd XI drew 0 – 0 in a tight match with Old Russellians FC. At times it was pretty niggly, with some poor challenges going in from both sides. The Ruts ended the match with 9 players, which endorses the brief summary above!

The 3rd XI’s difficult start to the campaign continued as they suffered a 1 – 6 home defeat against Warlingham Res FC. Steve Berry notched the OR’s consolation.

The 4th XI achieved a credible 2 – 0 win at Teddington Res FC, thanks to Goals from Sam Colebrook and Billy Finnis.
