With postponements rife all over the place, the OR’s did well to see all four of their games survive the weather! and on top of that, so nearly secure a clean sweep of victories.
The 1st XI secured a 2 – 0 win over Bermondsey Town FC, in what was described as an end to end match. The Ruts top scorer made his mark again as Zak Graham struck a 41st minute free-kick and a cool finish from the edge of the box in the 80th minute to secure all 3 points for the OR’s.
The 2nd XI won 3 -2 at Chessington KCFC Res in the Geoff Ellis Premier Cup Rd 2. The Ruts goals came courtesy of Club Captain Kyle Moore, Ollie Hicks and Ben Kennett.
The 3rd XI secured themselves a cup semi final slot with a fine 3 – 2 win over Oxted & District Res FC in the Geoff Ellis Intermediate Cup. The Ruts goals came from Darren Bloomfield, Ciaran Moorhouse and a Jon Mapp strike direct from a corner.
The 4th XI drew 3 – 3 with NPL’s 4th XI. Jake Lennard put the OR’s ahead midway through the first half before. NPL levelled immediately and the interval arrived level at 1 – 1.
This game also continued ‘end to end’ with Harry Reeder restoring the Ruts lead before NPL levelled. Sam Colebrook then restored the Ruts lead, before NPL gained a share of the spoils by converting from the spot.
All in all a decent set of results!
Best wishes to the U11’s in their Cup Semi Final tomorrow.
