The 1st XI swept Forestdale FC aside as they achieved a 9 – 0 away win earlier today. News reaches us that top scorer Zak Graham boosted his tally with a 5 goal haul, Jimmy Graham added a brace. Strikes from Captain Chris Beard and Manager Nick Raggett completed the scoreline.
The 2nd XI drew 1 – 1 at Home to Overton Athletic FC. The Ruts went a goal down, before joint player manager Paul Gough levelled for the Ruts.
The 3rd XI continued their recent healthy form as they secured their second League win of the season by overcoming Sutton High FC. The OR’s goals came courtesy of Mark Todd and Ciaran Moorhouse. We understand that midfield maestro George Tidey is at the hospital getting his ankle checked out following a hefty 50/50 tackle. We hope his injury is not serious and he has a speedy recovery.
The 4th XI had an interesting afternoon at Home to Darkside FC in the League. The Referee paced the pitch pre-match in a slightly strange fashion, whilst considering whether to proceed with the kick off. Anyway, he did allow 45 minutes play, in which the Ruts were not really at the races, as they conceded 3 goals. In reality, the scoreline could have been worse, had it not been for the nimble and able block saves of stand in keeper Scott Stoney – well done Scott, you get the vote for man of the half match! The game was then called off by the Ref at the interval!
Best wishes to the Vets and Junior teams tomorrow.
