The 1st XI drew 3 – 3 versus Ripley Village FC. The first half was relatively even with chances both ends with the hosts taking the lead around the 15 minute mark, before Zac Graham levelled on the stroke of half time.
Ripley had the best of the second half and hit a quick fire double to make the result appear to be a foregone conclusion. However, the Ruts dusted themselves down and got off of the ropes long enough to hit a couple of late goals to level courtesy of Zac and then Jimmy Graham.
The 2nd XI were caught cold in the early game and were promptly 2 nil down, despite creating chances themselves. Alex Blenkinsop hit the bar with a header and a Paul Gough free kick was well saved before Ripley hit a killer 3rd goal as the half time whistle was imminent. The hosts virtually wrapped the game up with a 4th goal at the start of the second half, before the impressive Paul Gough struck twice to give the scoreline more respectability for the Ruts.
Boo’s depleted 4th XI went down 5 – 4 in an entertaining friendly against Parkside. With late blowouts both Boo himself and Gary Forge had to make a defensive pairing of over 100 years old!! very impressive. The Ruts goals came via Keavy, Reeder, Riordan and Burgess.
