Results Round Up – Saturday 18th February 2017.

The 1st XI put in a truly top display in their League Cup Semi-Final today, as they blew Hanworth Sports away with a blistering 7 goal display. Billy Liffen continued his impressive campaign to date in cracking form, as he set the tone of the match with barely 90 seconds on the clock, when his well timed run resulted in him scoring at the end of a neat team build up.

Graham Rolfe then hit another of his trademark classics from around 20 yards, before Zak Graham struck another stunning free kick to make it 3.

Liffen then fired a further terrific strike from an acute angle to make it 4 – 0 with just 34 minutes played.

The Ruts added 3 further excellent goals after the break, all of which were decent well struck efforts. Graham doubled his tally with a 25 yarder, which evaded the keeper and Chris Beard then also shot well from distance following good link up play with Graham. Paul Mears then topped things off for the Ruts with a well placed strike from close to the penalty spot.

The 2nd XI secured a hard fought 2 – 1 win over Chessington KCFC Reserves at Poplar Road thanks to goals from player manager Kyle Moore and Alex Blenkinsop. Reports from our reporter at the scene Melissa Marney informed us that we had some twitchy moments in ‘Fergie Time’.

The 3rd XI went down 4 – 0 away to Oxted and District Reserves and consequently they will want to put that result behind them and bounce back next weekend.

The 4th XI also had a bad day at the office as they went down 3 – 1 to Epsom Casuals. The highlight of the day was young Harry Reeder keeping his rich vein of goal-scoring form by notching for the Ruts.

Best wishes to the Ruts teams in action tomorrow.
