A sizeable case of ‘7-Up’ in both directions today, as the Ruts teams in action were both involved in high scoring games.
The 1st XI skipped a Bye in to the next round of the League Cup and the 4th XI went to the Cafe.
Which left the action to the 2nd XI who ran rampant at Poplar Road, as they comfortably overcame Epsom Ath Res 7 – 1.
Ollie Hicks notched an impressive 4 goal haul, Ben Kennett, Billy Liffen and George Tidey were the other Ruts scorers. Apparently Tidey’s effort was well Tidy, as he is rumoured to have made a great run and a great finish. Nice and Tidey.
Unfortunately, the 3rd XI still await their first league points of the campaign, as they went down 7 – 3 at Cheam VW Res.
Scoring 3 goals was a positive plus and those strikes came courtesy of a Dan Larkin brace and a Steve Berry strike.
Word also reaches us that the U16’s went down 3 – 2 in their match this morning.
Best wishes to the Vets and Juniors tomorrow.
