Old Ruts Football Club

Old Rutlishians AFC (Old Ruts) is made up of ex-pupils of Rutlish School, amateur sportsman from the local community and the friends and relatives of existing players. It was reformed after a 58 year absence in the summer of 1990 having originally run from 1907 until 1932 when it folded after being replaced by Rugby as the popular winter sport at the Old Rutlishians

The Ruts secured two wins and suffered two defeats today.

The 1st XI went goal crazy, as they beat Real Holmesdale 7 – 1 at Poplar Road. The goals came courtesy of a Reece Jackson hatrick, whilst the other goals came from Billy Liffen, Nick Raggett, Kieran O’Driscoll and Paul Whitthread.

The 2nd XI went down 3 – 2 away in the Surrey Junior Cup at Hale Rovers. Credit to the lads for plugging away with just a bare 11. The Ruts goals came via Kyle Moore and Phil Lines.

The 3rd XI’s difficult campaign to date saw their efforts eventually undone by Motspur Park Res, who were able to secure a late 3 – 0 victory with a quickfire trio inside the last 10 minutes.

The 4th XI’s positive campaign saw them overcome NPL Res thanks to a Harry Reeder brace and goals from Dean Riordan & Paul Beaumont.
