Old Ruts Football Club

Old Rutlishians AFC (Old Ruts) is made up of ex-pupils of Rutlish School, amateur sportsman from the local community and the friends and relatives of existing players. It was reformed after a 58 year absence in the summer of 1990 having originally run from 1907 until 1932 when it folded after being replaced by Rugby as the popular winter sport at the Old Rutlishians

The Ruts Christmas stocking served up the full mixed bag of results with a Win, a Draw and a Loss. Pleasingly for the 1^st XI they ended a run of three successive 2 – 1 defeats to bring all 3 points back from the League leaders Old Boys Clapham, where the Ruts won 2 – 1. A good yuletide result men and enjoy your festive cheer and beer this evening. PT notched a victorious brace.

With it being a struggle to field 3 teams today the 2nds went down 3 – 1 at home to Cheam VW. Mappy equalised with a stunning free kick, only for the visitors to grab two late goals.

The 3^rd XI drew 2 – 2 with Shaftsbury Res. OR’s goals came courtesy of Dodd and Smith.
