The Weekend Ahead – 13th/14th October 2018.

This will certainly be one of the biggest weekends for us in many a year!

The 1st XI travel to Reigate Priory FC. Venue – Reigate Priory Cricket Ground, Park Lane, Reigate RH2 8JX. Kick Off is at 3.00pm.

The 2nd XI are at Home (Poplar Road) to Old Russellians FC. Kick Off is at 2.30pm.

The 3rd XI are at Home (Tudor Drive) to Warlingham Res FC. Please note the early Kick Off at 1.45pm.

The 4th XI are Away to Teddington Res FC. Venue – Feltham Community Collage, Browells Lane, Feltham TW13 7EF. Kick Off is at 2.00pm.

On Sunday the Vets host AFC Wimbledon Legends at Poplar Road. Entry £3 with all match proceeds going to the Aspire Communication Groups. Kick Off at 1.30pm. All support welcome! BBQ, Raffle, Auction on the day.

Take a Bow – Craig Lyle – 750 Club Appearances

Well, our mission to track down a very familiar face and Club Legend was finally concluded on Tuesday this week.

Craig Lyle made his phenomenal 750th Appearance for the Ruts back on the 9th December 2017. However, owing to family commitments he was unable to attend the Presentation in May.

Results Round Up – Saturday 6th October 2018

The 1st XI’s Match at Home was cancelled as the Opposition were unable to fulfil the Fixture.

The 2nd suffered a 2 – 1 defeat at Oxted & District Res FC and they were not helped by a red card. Ollie Hicks notched the OR’s consolation.

The 3rd XI secured their first point of their campaign after drawing 5 – 5 at Chessington KCFC ‘A’ FC. Debutant Matt Vandepeer scored an epic hatrick and Mark Todd bagged a brace.

The 4th XI had a close encounter with NPL ‘A; eventually winning 3 – 2. It was level at the interval 2 – 2, with 3 of the 4 goals coming from the spot. Dean Riordan slotted both OR Pens.

The Ruts winner came at the end of a delightful move with young Jake Searles clever and deft wing work providing Harry Reeder with the chance to slot home for what proved to be the all important winner.

The 1st XI’s Match at Home  has been cancelled as their Opposition are unable to fulfil the Fixture. Therefore the 4th XI’s match will take place at Poplar Road.

The 2nd are Away to Oxted & District Res FC. Venue: Master Park, Church Lane, Oxted RH8 9LD. Kick Off is at 3.00pm.

The 3rd XI are Away to Chessington KC ‘A’ FC .Venue: Chessington Cricket Club, Sir Francis Barker Ground, Leatherhead Rd, KT9 2NB.Kick Off is at 2.00pm.

The 4th XI are at Home (Now at Poplar Road)  v  NPL Res. Kick Off is at 2.00pm.

On Sunday the U16 Girls are at Home, Kick Off is at 10.30am.

Results Round Up – Saturday 29th September 2018

A mixed bag last weekend saw the Ruts secure 2 wins and suffer 2 defeats.

The 1st XI lost 3 – 1 at AMY FC, whilst the 2nd XI knocked out AMY Res FC from the Cup with a 4 – 1 victory. The 3rd XI suffered a 6 – 0 reverse at Wandgas Vets FC, whilst the 4th XI gained a credible 6 – 1 win at Barnslake FC.

 

Charity Match Result – Sunday 14th October

Vets MatchDespite the adverse weather, a massive thanks to the AFC Wimbledon Legends for their support in helping us raise £2.5k for .

The Ruts held the Dons for an hour before the Visitors upped the gears by smashing in 5 Goals. The OR’s nabbed a late consolation courtesy of Dean Riordan’s deft lob.

Results Round Up – Saturday 25th August 2018.

The 1st XI won 5 – 2 at Chiddingfold FC. The goals game from Chris Beard (2), Jimmy Graham (2) and Ollie Hicks. Many thanks to our superb hosts for their generous hospitality. Best wishes for the new season.

The 2nd XI drew 3 – 3 at Horsley ‘A’ FC. The OR’s can thank hatrick man Ben Macey for his contribution.

The 3rd XI went down 2 – 1 following a late goal at Supercala FC. Mark Todd notched for the OR’s

The 4th XI secured an impressive 5 – 1 win against Thornton Heath FC with the goals coming from throughout the team. The scorers were Lewis Colebrook, Sam Colebrook, Kai Walker, Ollie Bennett and Daniel Clatworthy.

The 1st XI travel to Chiddingfold FC for a 2.00pm Kick Off. Venue, Venue: Chiddingfold Recreation Ground, Coxcombe Lane, Chiddingfold GU8 4QA

UPDATED – The 2nd XI play Horsley ‘A’ FC. Venue: Tom’s field, Long Reach, Horsley, KT24 6NE. Kick Off is at 2.00pm.

The 3rd XI face Supercala FC at Surbiton Town Sports Ground, Riverhill Estate, Worcester Park, KT4 7QB. This is an early 1.00pm KO.

The 4th XI play Thornton Heath FC at Prince Georges, Kick Off is at 2.00pm.

Plenty of goals around in the matches played today.

The 1st XI were poor by their own standards as they went down 5 – 3 at Chobham & Burmead FC. The Ruts scorers were Jimmy Graham (2) and Chris Beard.

 

The 2nd & 3rd XI’s had a week off.

 

Boo’s 4th XI enjoyed their first outing of the campaign as they breezed to a 9 – 1 victory against St Martins FC. The OR’s goals came from Kyle Moore (4) Daniel Hughes (2) Myles Wiltshire (2) and Harry Reeder (1).

We have 2 x Friendly Fixtures this coming weekend – details as follows,

The 1st XI travel to Chobham & Burymead FC for an early 1.00pm Kick Off. Venue – The Recreation Ground, Station Road, GU24 8AZ.

The 2nd XI Fixure has been CANCELLED, as the Opposition are unable to fulfill the fixture.

The 3rd XI do not have a Fixture.

The 4th XI have their first outing of the Season, as they play St.Martins FC, also at Prince Georges. Kick Off for this match is at 3.00pm.
