Old Ruts Football Club

Old Rutlishians AFC (Old Ruts) is made up of ex-pupils of Rutlish School, amateur sportsman from the local community and the friends and relatives of existing players. It was reformed after a 58 year absence in the summer of 1990 having originally run from 1907 until 1932 when it folded after being replaced by Rugby as the popular winter sport at the Old Rutlishians

The 1^st XI narrowly lost their final friendly match against Tooting Bec Res. The Ruts scorers were Alex Curme and an excellent Strike from Kofi Amuah. Stand in Keeper Billy O’Keefe was MOTM for an assured display and some fine saves.

The 2^nd XI secured a 3 – 1 friendly win against Southern Athletic thanks to a Tony Furmeaux brace and a further goal from Sean Tolson. Paul Whitthread was the Ruts MOTM.

The Walking Football lost 2 – 1 to Thames in controversial fashion. Gary Forge notched for the OR’s, whilst deputising Keeper Richard ‘Slats’ Slatford was Ruts MOTM for his sterling display which included a Penalty Save.

The Sunday lads opened their Campaign with a fine 4 – 0 League Win over Battersea Rise FC. Ashley Juett scored an impressive Hatrick, whilst Howard Payne scored the other and won the MOTM for his immense display.
